RSG

The gambling industry in Australia has been regulated to ensure all people betting to take on a form of responsible gambling behaviour and ethics. SITHGAM201 – Provide responsible gambling services (otherwise known as Responsible Service of Gambling Australia or RSG) outlines that each state in Australia adopts a code of legislation covering the conduct of gambling.

There are several RSG courses Australia offered online to allow employees working alongside gambling to follow the rules and meet the requirements of RSG Australia bodies like the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR).

Most of the fact sheets RSG courses outline will cover things like the knowledge one has to know and learn before providing RSG in Australia. You will learn several key features such as how to respect and understand the importance of maintaining a customer’s privacy and how to help patrons with exclusion procedures at race venues.

You will also learn how to provide create a responsible environment in promoting responsible betting. You will show customers the player information and provide RSG to all patrons. You will also understand how such procedures work and understand the nature of these activities.

Learning all about problem gambling is also a key feature of the syllabus in RSG courses Australia has to offer. RSG courses in Australia comply with two main elements which are essential to anyone who wants to provide gambling services across Australia. The first element is to provide a level of responsible gambling and RSG procedures in accordance with state and national legislations.

The second element is to provide appropriate information on problem gambling should any patron request it. Basically, to be adept at the codes and practices means gambling operators, suppliers of software used to gamble on and associated service providers must by law ensure their services uphold the highest standards of integrity to guarantee a safe and fair gambling experience that protects patrons from the nastier side of gaming and betting.

Most of Australia’s gambling codes of conduct must now ensure online and shop-based gambling outlets offer gaming services in a responsible and ethical manner. RSG was brought in to protect vulnerable customers from the more detrimental side of bad gambling habits.
